Taʿlīm
What Is a Taʿlīm?
Taʿlīm ( تَعْلِيم ) means teaching or instruction. It is the act of conveying knowledge from teacher to student, a tradition that stretches back to the Prophet ﷺ and his companions, who would gather to learn and transmit the religion to those after them.
For all the years he served as imam of Masjid Al-Mumin, Shaykh Abu Mujaahid Fareed Abdullah رحمه الله held his Taʿlīms in this same way — sitting humbly on the floor with whoever wanted to learn, young or old, beginner or advanced, brothers and sisters alike.
Today, we strive to carry that same approach forward in our classes: knowledge taught simply and sincerely, drawn directly from the books of the scholars.
Our Taʿlīms are grounded in the Qur'an and the authentic Sunnah upon the understanding of the Salaf al-Salih. No prior Islamic education is required. All sincere seekers are welcome.
